Welcome Mr. Carson Quick - New Color Guard Director!

Please welcome our new Color Guard Director for the coming school year Mr. Carson Quick! Mr. Quick will be coming to us from North Carolina. Mr. Myers, graciously offered his assistance with the interview process and after interviewing Mr. Quick, it was clear that he was our choice. We look forward to bringing Mr. Quick’s expertise to the Bronco Band! Carson Quick – Color Guard Director Mr. Quick comes to McKinney Boyd from Charlotte, North Carolina, and is a native of Sanford, North Carolina. As a high school student, Mr. Quick participated in color guard and played tuba throughout his high school years. Mr. Quick, has performed with the First Flight World Winterguard and the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. He currently serves on the clinician staff with Fred J. Miller Inc., and has served on the staffs of the Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corp., First Flight Winterguard, Cape Fear High School, Lee County High School and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Welcome Mr. Treadwell & Mrs. Teed

Please welcome our two new band staff members, Mr. Travis Treadwell and Mrs. Jennifer Teed!  After weeks of interviews where we narrowed the list of candidates down to a second round and then finally down to a third round, Mr. Treadwell and Mrs. Teed were the unanimous choices by all of those who were involved in the interview and screening process.  I know that everyone will be very excited about what these two individuals will bring to the Bronco Band and will enjoy meeting and getting to know each of them in the weeks and months to come.  Please read more about each of them in their bios below.

Travis Treadwell – Associate Director of Bands

Mr. Treadwell is a native of Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Frenship High School and was a three-time All-State tenor trombonist.

Mr. Treadwell earned his degree in Music Education at Texas Tech University, where he studied trombone under Mr. James Decker, was a member of the Goin’ Band from Raiderland, and was a member of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Sarah McKoin.  While completing his degree, Mr. Treadwell served as a student teacher at Hebron High School in Lewisville ISD.  Mr. Treadwell is also a past president of the Kappa Kappa Psi Alpha Omicron Chapter.

Mr. Treadwell’s has spent the last five years serving as the Associate Director of Bands at Paschal High School in Fort Worth under the direction of Mr. Bryan Wright (former director of bands at Faubion Middle School).  The Paschal Jazz Band recently returned from European tour where they performed by invitation at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Mr. Teadwell’s wife Elizabeth, is a band director at Armstrong Middle School in Plano ISD.

Jennifer Teed – Assistant Director of Bands

Mrs. Teed is a native of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, where she attended Sallisaw High School.

Mrs. Teed, recently completed a Masters Degree in Clarinet Performance at the University of Oklahoma where she also completed her Bachelor of Music Education.

While at the University of Oklahoma, Mrs. Teed was a member of The Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band under the direction of Mr. Brian Britt and was a member of the Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. William Wakefield.

Mrs. Teed, is a past OU Concerto Competition Winner and was the featured soloist for the Concerto Gala Concert with the University of Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra. 


Mrs. Teed’s, husband Brian, is the percussion director at Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall ISD.
